On Monday, the Harvard College Women's Center hosted the 2024 Peggy Schmertzler Leadership Seminar featuring Natasha Salford, an alumnus of Harvard College, former Harvard College Women's Center intern, former president of ABHW and author of American Negra.
Thank you, Natasha, for speaking about the imperfect humanness that people experience in their 20s, the extreme value in finding an intrinsic sense of self-worth, the myth of the Latinx and Black binary, the need for rest, and the importance of telling our stories as women and gender-expansive people of color.

Today, Dr. Bonnie Talbert, Harvard College Women’s Center Director, and Dr. Jen Gunter @drjengunter ,author of “Blood : The Science, Medicine, and Mythology of Menstruation” discussed the importance of thinking critically about the history of science and its role in the construction of gendered experience in healthcare and medicine. It’s so important to make accurate, informed medical decisions for women and gender expansive people due to the risks that misinformation can play in people’s health.

This weekend, the @harvardcollegewomenscenter and the @harvardfoundation went on a joint fall retreat to the @harvard.forest where students engaged in critical discussions about community-building, inclusion, and belonging through their work as student leaders striving towards equity in intercultural and race relations and gender.
