Women’s Week brings together stakeholders in gender equity on campus for a week of programming dedicated to centering the intersectional experiences of women and gender-expansive people on and beyond Harvard's campus. The theme of this year’s Women’s Week is Rooted/Roots, which is a powerful and symbolic concept that pays homage to resilient women and femmes who have woven the foundations of communities globally while sustaining vital social justice movements. Celebrating the "roots" of our communities means recognizing the contributions of the most unappreciated who have dedicated their lives to sewing seeds of change, building from the ground up, and sustaining multidimensional projects.

Eligibility

Student organizations are welcome to collaborate with other orgs on co-sponsored events. If your event is co-sponsored, only one application is required. Co-sponsorships do not need to be finalized by the application deadline, but if there is a potential co-sponsorship for your event, please note this on the application. Only recognized undergraduate student organizations are eligible to participate in Women's Week. Organizations that are not officially recognized may collaborate in the planning of a Women's Week event, however they may not submit the application on behalf of a recognized student org. Women's Week events are not eligible for ART/WCCF Grant funds.

Requirements

An organizer for each event is required to attend 3 Women's Week Steering Committee (Steercom) meetings in the fall and spring to prepare for Women's Week. We require two representatives for each event, and a least one of these representatives must be present during each Steercom meeting. During these meetings participants learn important information about planning the events, make decisions on logos, and strategize publicity together. All participating student organizations are required to submit receipts, complete a survey, and submit photos from their events.

Applications

Women's Week applications are generally due at the end of October and will be announced in the Women's Center newsletter and social media. We will reach out to selected organizations shortly after to let them know the status of their application.

2023-2024 Steercom Schedule to be released.

*If you have any questions about the application, or if you have trouble uploading files to the form once it is released, please email us at hcwc@fas.harvard.edu with "Women's Week" in the subject line.
